Enjoy Diamond Falls Preserve

Hike Our Trails

320+ acres of beautiful mountain landscape are right out your front door with hikes ranging from a peaceful stroll to a more strenuous workout up the mountain. Each trail offers its own unique scene with several mountain streams and waterfalls along the way.

Trout Pond

The pond beside the cabin is stocked on a seasonal basis with trout. This is a relaxing place to cast your fly line and wait for the fish to bite–chances are you won’t have to wait too long.  Bring your fly rod! The trout pond is for the enjoyment of guests of all ages and is catch-and-release only.

Rock Hound

Where there is quartz there also might be gold! The rocky stream running behind the cabin is a fun area to take your pan (bring your own) and see what you come across.

Mountain Bike

If mountain biking is more your speed, take advantage of all the private hiking trails and go for it. There are also great trails in the surrounding areas, especially in Brevard and Pisgah National Forest.  Please bring your own equipment.

Fire Pit

One of the most popular gathering spots on the property is the stone patio and fire pit overlooking the rushing mountain stream. Relax and reconnect with friends and family around the warmth of the fire pit.  Bring your banjo or guitar! Seasoned firewood is available under the main cabin porch.

Star Gazing

Miles away from all the night lights and hustle and bustle of the city, Diamond Falls’ secluded location is excellent for stargazing. Shooting stars are almost always guaranteed on a clear night!

Hot Tub

The hot tub is situated partially over a rushing mountain stream with captivating views of small waterfalls on either side. You may not want to get out!  Morning coffee is best in the hot tub.

Swim

A refreshing swim or polar bear plunge depending on the season, is sometimes in order. The swimming hole is located just a few yards from the cabin in the stream. There’s a natural stone stairway leading down to the large boulder for jumping in. The outdoor lights at night make for a great night swim.

Jump Boulders

Jump boulders along the main stream – the best way to take in the full beauty of the property. Go at your own pace and be careful on the slippery moss, you might get wet along the way! For the best boulders, start at the base of the waterfall and work your way back to the cabin. Look for salamanders and crawdads along the way!

Play a Game

There are a few board games (Monopoly, Scrabble, etc) available in the cabin. Get cozy with a crackling wood burning fire and enjoy!

Enjoy the Library

Read a book from the library. A bookcase is stocked with a growing array of books. Sometimes there’s nothing better than curling up with a good book. Leave one, take one!

Enjoy a Picnic

There are too many ideal picnic spots to mention. Find your favorite patch of grass or boulder and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Curl up by a Fire

Enjoy the Cherokee stone fireplaces. Choices are good! Choose between a wood burning fireplace or a gas log fireplace. Both put off good heat. Seasoned firewood is located under the front porch. Pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy the flickering flames!

Relax on the Sun Deck

Break off from your group and relax on one of the four chaise lounge chairs on the sun deck. Breathe in the mountain air and listen to the sounds of rushing water while you catch some rays or watch the trout surface at the pond.
